About Us

Our company was established in 1989 as Grafit Sanayi Ltd. After producing graphite for long years, started production of emery in the year 2006 and later production of bauxite. Today our company ceased production of graphite and continues production of bauxite and emery.

The emery which is mined from our quarries in the province of Mugla is being crushed, grinded, sieved and packed in our facility according to their grits (in accordance with the universally accepted standards; FEPA) and exported to Asian, European and American markets.

Grafit Madencilik was the sole supplier of Van Mannekus Company in emery. We were producing the emery especially for Van Mannekus & Co. VB of Netherland, under an exclusive agreement. This material was being distributed in Europe, Asia and Far East markets under Van Mannekus’s registered brands. Eventhough the exclusivity ceased after Van Mannekus merged with Timab, we still keep on supplying the emery Timab requires. We have three emery mines that we operate for our own consumption. We currently work in two of these mines namely Eyli Tepe and Destin, and keep the third one, namely Korteke for our future operations.

In the year 2014 our company changed the legal form of the company from Ltd. Co. to Incorporated Company.From that date our company is running the Operations under the name  Madencilik San. ve Tic. A.Ş..

In 2016 we have started bauxite business by opening our Kurdu (Yilanli Dag) open pit quarry which is 15 km distance to Mugla. We are marketing this bauxite to our clients from refracteries, steel and cement production industries.

We crush and screen this bauxite to basically four sizes  These sizes are: 0 mm – 10 mm, 10 mm- 30 mm, 30 mm – 50 mm, 50 mm- 150 mm. In cases clients request so, we supply bauxite run of mine bauxite

The typical values of the bauxite from Kurdu (Yilanli Dag) is given below:

Al₂O₃ : 49%- 57%
SiO₂ : 6% – 9%
TiO₂ : 2% – 4%
Fe₂O₃ : 18% – 22%

Our production capacity is approximately 10,000 MT/Month from this quarry.

EMERY:

We currently own 3 emery mines in Mugla region.

• Eyli Tepe
• Destin
• Korteke

We produce approximately 5,000 tons of emery per year. We process this emery in our facility in Mugla and create additional value instead of selling it run of mine.

We are operating our Destin mine lately and occasionally produce emery from eyli tepe mine.

We are keeping the third mine Kortepe, for future exploitation.
